Social Development

Who are we trying to help? What issue are we trying to address?

We, the Heritage Foundation, a non-profit making public charitable trust. Grass roots level villagers do not generally understand a range of health issues including the importance of immunization and growth monitoring, techniques of low cost nutritious food preparation, methods of birth control and spacing of children, the importance of using sanitary or pit type latrines and the preparation of safe drinking water and the maintenance of personal hygiene, etc.

This results in the deterioration of health, the increase of superstition and incorrect treatment leading to a high incidence of maternal mortality, child mortality, morbidity, dehydration and malnutrition. The incidence of infectious diseases is also relatively high. The existing local doctors are not properly qualified or trained so that local people often have to travel long distances for proper treatment.

What is our project and how will it help?

The project will cover many villages and around 1,00,000 people will be benefited. It will enhance the quality of life in regard to health. Participants will be encouraged to attend meeting and to follow the advice given. The project aims to

How can other people partner with us on our project?

In this project people are the beneficiaries and the partners. People use health services and also pay a nominal fees towards the cost of the service. However, we are also making efforts for mobilizing resources from the government through convergence efforts. Hence the government will be the secondary partner for this project.

The Skills taught here help you become highly effective, by showing you how to identify and focus on the activities that give you the greatest returns. Doing this will save you time, helping you work smarter, not harder. What’s more, these same techniques help you beat work overload – a key source of stress.

What skills are required for effective time management?

Some of these skills including setting clear goals, breaking your goals down into discreet steps, and reviewing your progress towards your goals are covered in Action Planning.

Other skills involved include prioritizing – focusing on urgent and important tasks rather than those that are not important or don’t move you towards your goals; organizing your work schedule; list making to remind you of what you need to do when; persevering when things are not working out and avoiding procrastination. Following are steps to be followed:

G) Agricultural Research:

India is agro-finance based country. Agriculture is the main sources of financial standard in Indian village life. About 80% Indians are living in rural & semi-urban areas whose occupations are agriculture or equivalent.

In that case everyone should extremely focus on agriculture, because agriculture produces raw materials of production unit. Production is the measurement scale of economic standard of a nation.

We at Heritage foundation believe that Agriculture is the backbone of Indian Economy. Industrial reformation will make India a super power, but without a strong Agricultural portfolio, the foundation will be weak.We strive to integrate the entire technological enhancement in the agricultural sector with the current infrastructure available. We believe that we can and we will make every Farmer, an agricultural scientist. With the help of technology, automation, biochemical, and many more innovation we can make India shine again.

We are working independently and also under guidance of government projects to fulfil our dream of “New India” and “Organic India” in case of agriculture for optimizing Indian agricultural natural resources. We have arranged awareness camp for farmers & farmers’ club to inspire them to cultivate seasonal crop, varieties crop cultivation by following crop chain. That may develop the quality or yielding power of soil. We can aware farmers about the organic manure, fertilizer, usefulness of cow-dung, compost manure. We will suggest to use organic medicine & vitamins for crop & vegetables or animal husbandry.

We have developed well-tested models for application of agricultural research and technology for profitability of farming, income generation and poverty alleviation. Presently with association of the resource persons of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Department of Agriculture, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (BCKV), Kalyani University and Kochi University (Japan) we are trying to fulfil our dream for the sustainable development of Indian agriculture and agricultural food products as well as agricultural industries and want to address the unemployment question by employment generation through Agricultural and industrial development.

We, the Heritage Foundation initiate the betterment of Indian Agriculture through our core research works on:

  2. Training for the farmers for best outputs
  3. Uses of Bio-Fertilizers in organic farming
  4. Employment generation through skill development training

  7. Training on agricultural product marketing and branding
  8. Increase of GDP (Gross Domestic Product)

H) Handicraft Projects:

Heritage foundation identifies that one of the most important sector for employment generation is Handicraft projects. Unfortunately it’s been on the most negligible sector in recent years We work closely with the potential artist to nurture them to a self-dependent individual. India has a very strong cultural root and there always been different handicrafts in rural India. Our mission is to develop each sector to a global platform, from where Indian economy gets a boom from foreign currency.

Heritage Foundation have organized Handicraft Project in the different district of West Bengal. We organize stone carving, Crafts made by bamboo etc.

Specially, we’ll entertain the women group to develop some food product unit in organic procurements, for some handy crafted material like bamboo, cane, mat fibre etc.

I) Poverty Eradication:

Eradication of poverty in India is generally only considered to be a long-term goal. Poverty alleviation is expected to make better progress in the next 50 years than in the past, as effect of the growing middle class. Increasing stress on education, reservation of seats in government jobs and the increasing empowerment of women and the economically weaker sections of society, are also expected to contribute to the alleviation of poverty.

We at HERITAGE FOUNDATION is determined to fight poverty by providing proper education, employment generation, agricultural research work.

We are working closely with all the initiatives taken by different governing bodies all over the world.

Integrated Rural Development me (IRDP) evaluation points: sub-critical investment; unviable projects; illiterate and unskilled beneficiaries with no experience in managing an enterprise; indifferent delivery of credit by banks, overcrowding of lending in certain projects such as dairy; under emphasis on activities like trading, service and even simple processing, poor targeting and selection of non-poor; rising indebtedness; scale of IRDP outstripped capacity of government and banks to absorb.

Presently, under developed and developing countries are suffering from a great issue of food security resulting in the problem of malnutrition. Aquaculture and fisheries play a significant role in meeting the problem of food security by producing nutritious and delicious animal protein employing the precious water resources on earth. Aquaculture and fisheries have been experiencing a boom since the min-1980s and therefore it is one of the emerging framings during last few decades in our country. Though it has huge opportunity in rural sector of our country for producing and meeting the demand of animal protein, we are not exploring this resource properly. Besides, aqua and fish farming is able to uplift the socio-economic status of the rural peoples by generating the employment as well as direct cash along with animal protein. In order to improve the socio-economic status of the rural peoples, the following strategies should follow:

Heritage Foundation by the guide and methodologies of Dr. M.K. Pradhan emphasis on improvement of the quality of life and economic well-beings of the rural people.
